Torrent Power Bags 300 MW Wind Project, Expands Green Energy Footprint.

Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited, has emerged as a successful bidder in a competitive tender, receiving a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on June 11, 2025. This award is for the development of a 300 MW wind power project under the Wind Tranche-XVIII scheme.

The project, secured at a tariff of ₹3.97 per unit, is slated for commissioning within 24 months from the date the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is executed. It represents an estimated investment of approximately ₹2,650 crore.

This win underscores Torrent Power's strategic focus on renewable energy as a key growth driver. With the addition of this new project, Torrent's renewable capacity currently under development has increased to 3.3 GWp. This expansion aligns with the company's robust sustainability commitments and the Indian Government's ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

Torrent Power continues to actively broaden its diverse renewable portfolio, which already includes a balanced mix of wind and solar assets. The company is also exploring other green energy pathways, including Pumped Hydro Storage and Green Hydrogen, as part of its long-term sustainable energy strategy.
