Torrent Power Secures Contract to Supply 100 MW to REMCL

Torrent Power Ltd has clinched a significant deal after emerging as the successful bidder, receiving a Letter of Award from Railway Energy Management Company Ltd (REMCL). According to a statement released by the company, the contract involves setting up grid-connected renewable power projects capable of supplying 100 MW Round-The-Clock power.

The project, slated for commissioning within 24 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement, carries an approximate cost of ₹2,700 crore. This investment will facilitate the installation of about 325 MW of renewable capacity dedicated to supplying 100 MW RE-RTC (Round-The-Clock) power.

Under the terms of the tender, Torrent Power Ltd is mandated to maintain a minimum annual Capacity Utilization Factor of 75% during the initial three years and 85% from the fourth year onward. The tariff for the project stands at ₹4.25 per kilowatt-hour (Kwh) for a contractual period spanning 25 years.

The Letter of Award was officially granted on February 29, marking a significant milestone for Torrent Power Ltd and solidifying its commitment to renewable energy ventures.|
