Toyota Motor Corporation to Set Up 100,000-Unit Plant at Bidkin in Maharashtra.
Toyota Motor Corporation is expanding its manufacturing footprint in India with plans to set up a new vehicle plant at Bidkin in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
The project is expected to attract investments of around ₹20,000 crore over multiple phases, according to a senior official in the state Industries Department. However, Toyota Kirloskar Motor did not disclose the investment amount in its announcement on Monday.
The company said it will establish a greenfield manufacturing facility at the Bidkin Industrial Area, with production slated to begin in the first half of 2029.
The proposed plant will have an initial production capacity of 100,000 vehicles annually and is expected to generate employment for around 2,800 people. The first vehicle to roll out from the facility will be a new sport utility vehicle (SUV), the company said.
The upcoming Maharashtra facility marks a significant expansion for Toyota Kirloskar Motor as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing Indian automobile market.
