Trichy Junction RoB Stage II Scheduled for Completion and Opening in June.

The long-delayed Stage II of the Trichy Junction Road Overbridge (RoB) is now set to be commissioned by June, as the state highways department and Southern Railway expedite work on their respective sections.

The railways have procured a steel girder for the portion of the bridge above the tracks near Trichy Junction railway station. “One of the two spans for the bowstring bridge, similar to the new Kollidam bridge, was procured from Katpadi. Assembling and welding work have been initiated, and soon another span will arrive. Heavy machinery, including a crane, will be mobilised to place the span on supporting columns,” a railway official said.

Meanwhile, the highways department has fast-tracked construction of walls and ramps for the multiple arms of the RoB, accelerating work to meet the June deadline. The joint efforts aim to finally complete the project after previous delays.
