Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals to set up carbon dioxide recovery project.

Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd. (TAC), a member of the SPIC (Southern Petro Industries Corporation) group, will set up a carbon dioxide (CO2) recovery project, which will use boiler flue gases, to meet the raw material requirements. “The board has took on record the license agreement for the establishment of CO2 recovery project from boiler flue gases, which will act as an independent continuous source of the vital raw material,” said Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals in a BSE filing on July 31, 2015.

Tuticorin Alkali manufactures soda ash, ammonium chloride (fertiliser grade) and a range of pesticide formulations. As a backward integration measure, the company proposes to put up a technical-grade pesticides plant.
