"UltraTech Cement Acquires Jharkhand Grinding Unit for ₹170 Crore"

In a strategic move, UltraTech Cement, a prominent member of the Aditya Birla Group, has made a significant entry into Jharkhand through the acquisition of 0.54 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of cement grinding assets. The company successfully secured the grinding assets of Burnpur Cement located at Patratu in Jharkhand for a noteworthy sum of ₹170 crore. This acquisition was executed under the provisions of the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002.

The addition of these grinding assets strengthens UltraTech Cement's position in the region and aligns with its strategic expansion plans. The acquired assets contribute a substantial capacity of 0.54 mtpa to UltraTech Cement's overall domestic capacity, which now stands at an impressive 133 mtpa. This move not only signifies the company's commitment to growth but also positions it strategically in the competitive landscape of the cement industry. UltraTech Cement continues to play a pivotal role in the construction and infrastructure development sector, reinforcing its reputation as a major player in the Indian cement market.
