UltraTech Cement Commissions 0.6 MTPA Cement Capacity in Tamil Nadu.

UltraTech Cement has commissioned an additional 0.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) slag-based cement grinding capacity at its Karur unit in Tamil Nadu. This expansion follows the earlier commissioning of a 2.7 MTPA greenfield grinding facility at the same location, bringing the total capacity of the plant to 3.3 MTPA.

The increased capacity will enhance UltraTech’s ability to meet the growing demand for composite cement in the southern region while improving its blended cement ratio.

The company recently added another 0.6 MTPA grinding capacity at its Sonar Bangla unit in West Bengal.

With this latest expansion, UltraTech Cement's total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has reached 166.91 MTPA. Including its overseas operations, the company’s global capacity now stands at 172.31 MTPA.
