UltraTech Cement, India's leading cement manufacturer, has announced the successful commissioning of a 7.5 MW round-the-clock hybrid renewable energy project at its integrated cement manufacturing unit in Sewagram Cement Works, Gujarat.
This cutting-edge project represents a significant step towards sustainable manufacturing, providing uninterrupted power to the cement plant without drawing from the traditional grid. The innovative solution combines solar energy, utilizing advanced bifacial modules with trackers, and wind energy, both co-located on-site. Crucially, the system is augmented with battery storage, ensuring a consistent and reliable power supply for the energy-intensive cement production process.
The ambitious project was executed in collaboration with Gentari, a prominent clean energy solutions company, highlighting a strategic partnership to advance renewable energy integration in industrial operations. This initiative underscores UltraTech Cement's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and transitioning towards a greener manufacturing process.
