Vadhvan Port Set to Become Operational by 2030: Ajit Pawar.
Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar announced that the Vadhvan port in Palghar district will be operational by 2030. Presenting the state budget in the legislative assembly on Monday, he highlighted the government's focus on industrial growth, targeting ₹40 lakh crore in investments and the creation of 50 lakh jobs under the new industrial policy.
Pawar also revealed plans for a third airport near Vadhvan port and a Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train station in the vicinity. Additionally, he announced that domestic flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport would commence next month, with 85% of the work completed and successful trial runs conducted.
Other key infrastructure developments include a night landing facility at Shirdi Airport and a metro link connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Navi Mumbai International Airport. He also emphasized Maharashtra's goal of developing the Mumbai Metropolitan Region into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047.
