Runaya Metsource Ltd, a Vedanta group company, has announced plans to expand its critical metals production platform with new capacities for cobalt, cadmium and copper currently under execution, alongside a wider portfolio of base metals and related compounds.

The company currently operates fully commissioned facilities in Rajasthan with an installed production capacity of more than 70,000 tonnes per annum. These facilities focus on converting industrial residues into critical and base metals, supporting circular economy initiatives in the metals sector.

As part of its expansion strategy, Runaya is scaling up operations at its Zinc Industrial Park in Rajasthan. According to a company statement, the latest expansion is aimed at transforming Runaya into a multi-critical metals production platform while creating a cluster-driven industrial ecosystem in India. The company added that the project is also expected to support local employment generation and strengthen domestic capabilities in strategic metals manufacturing.
