Vedanta Secures Manganese Block in Andhra Pradesh.

Vedanta has secured the Punnam manganese block in Andhra Pradesh through the auction process, marking a strategic addition to its mineral portfolio.

The block, located in the Vizianagaram district, spans 152 hectares and is currently classified at the G4 level of exploration. This stage, also known as reconnaissance, represents the initial phase of mineral exploration, where large areas are surveyed to identify potential zones with mineralisation.

The acquisition is expected to bolster Vedanta’s presence in the manganese sector, a key input for steelmaking and battery production.
