Vestas bags 46-MW wind turbine order for Indian project.

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said it has received a 46-MW order for a project in the Indian state of Karnataka.

In particular, Vestas will deliver and install 23 pieces of its V110-2.0 MW turbines, which will have the combined capacity to power roughly 100,000 Indian homes. The contract also includes a 15-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service deal.

Vestas anticipates to ship and commission the machines during the second quarter of next year. The project also includes the delivery of foundations and SCADA Vestas Business Online for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance, the firm added.

The Danish turbine supplier did not give more details about the project, as requested by the unnamed customer.

Vestas says it has installed almost 68 GW of cumulative wind power capacity around the world to date.
