VinFast Unveils Second EV Factory in Vietnam, Accelerating Global Push.

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast officially commenced production on Sunday at its second domestic factory, located in the central province of Ha Tinh. The new facility aims to significantly increase the company's output of affordable mini urban EV models as it navigates delays in its broader global expansion initiatives.

The Ha Tinh plant boasts an initial annual production capacity of 200,000 units and covers an expansive 36 hectares (approximately 90 acres), according to a company statement. This new factory complements VinFast's flagship manufacturing hub in northern Haiphong, which is designed to achieve a much larger capacity of 950,000 units by next year.

The strategic opening of this second plant underscores VinFast's commitment to scaling up production of its more compact and budget-friendly EV offerings, a move that could be crucial for penetrating new markets and accelerating EV adoption.
