Visakhapatnam Port Gets ₹334.89-Crore Flyover Approval to Boost Cargo Movement.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has approved a ₹334.89-crore internal flyover at Visakhapatnam Port Authority to improve cargo evacuation, ease traffic congestion and streamline movement within the port premises, the ministry said on Tuesday.

Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the project would address a critical bottleneck at the port and help accelerate cargo movement while improving overall operational efficiency.

The proposed 3.584-km elevated corridor will connect Convent Junction with the Dock Area and is designed to segregate road and rail traffic within the port.

The project is expected to improve the movement of cargo and vehicles inside the port by reducing congestion at key points along the existing transport network.
