VVF (India) to open plant in S. Africa this year.
Personal care and oleochemicals maker VVF (India) Ltd. plans to launch its fourth global manufacturing facility in South Africa this year, a company official said recently.
The company, Vegetable Vitamins Foods (VVF), was established in 1939.
Currently, the Mumbai-based group, which expects to grow into a $one billion firm in 2016, has international plants in Dubai, Poland and Indonesia.
In India, its manufacturing facilities are at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh and Daman, Ashish Potdar, Senior Vice-President & Business Head-Consumer Products, said. He, however, declined to provide more details and financials.
After launching the company’s latest face wash Doy Care Aloe Vera, a bioactive gel made out of natural products, he said India’s market in this segment is Rs. 1,500 crore at present, and is expected to grow 30 per cent. The company has launched this product in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.
He said VVF (India), which brought out the Doy Care brand a decade ago, will launch more products with aloe vera in the near future. The newly-launched product focuses on rejuvenation of human skin.
