"Waters Corporation Inaugurates Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru"

In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in India, US-based Waters Corporation, a leading analytical laboratory instrument and software company, inaugurated its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. The state-of-the-art facility, located in the RMZ Eco World tech park, Bellandur, represents a substantial investment of $16 million (Rs. 133 crore).

The newly established workspace is poised to play a pivotal role in the company's global operations, with plans to recruit over 300 professionals across various domains such as software engineering, technology, product development, data analytics, and IT. This significant expansion will contribute to a 70 per cent increase in the workforce, adding to the existing 431 employees.

Highlighting India's prominence in Waters Corporation's global portfolio, the country stands out as its strongest and fastest-growing market. In the third quarter of 2023 alone, the company generated 20 per cent of its total Asia-Pacific revenues from India. Udit Batra, President and CEO of Waters Corporation, emphasized, “India continues to be one of our fastest-growing markets and a key location for the talent we need to drive global customer success and innovation forward. The Waters India GCC is an integrated extension of our global team.”

Waters Corporation, headquartered in Bengaluru, operates six regional offices in India and serves diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, food and beverage, and clinical instruments. The company, boasting a current presence in over 2,300 laboratories in India, plays a crucial role in advancing analytical technology across sectors.

The selection of Bengaluru for the Global Capability Centre was deliberate, taking into account the city's rich talent pool, business-friendly environment, and strategic proximity to customers. T Anilkumar, General Manager of Waters India Pvt. Ltd., commented, “Opening the Waters GCC is a significant milestone for our team in India. We chose Bengaluru because of the availability and depth of talent, the friendly business environment, and its proximity to our customers.” The inauguration marks a significant milestone in Waters Corporation's commitment to leveraging Indian talent and fostering innovation on a global scale.
