Websol Energy System Limited has commenced commercial production of its additional 600 MW Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing line (Phase II) at its Falta facility in West Bengal, the company announced.
This expansion doubles Websol’s total solar cell capacity to 1.2 GW, complementing the existing 550 MW solar module production line at the same site. The new line is fully funded through internal accruals, reflecting the company’s strong cash flow and conservative capital management.
As part of the commissioning process, the existing cell and module lines were temporarily shut down for approximately eight days, resulting in a one-time revenue impact in Q2 FY2026. However, operations have now resumed smoothly with the successful launch of the additional line.
Commenting on the milestone, Managing Director Sohan Lal Agarwal said, “The commissioning of our additional 600 MW solar cell line marks a major step in Websol’s growth journey. It reinforces our strategy of building a high-efficiency, horizontally integrated cell-to-module value chain, fully aligned with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. With this development, Websol is further strengthening its market position and advancing its multi-gigawatt expansion roadmap to contribute to India’s clean energy transition.”
