Xpro India commissions new unit.

Xpro India Ltd. recently commissioned its new dielectric capacitor films unit at Barjora in the Bankura district of the state.

Coming up at a cost of Rs. 200 crore, the unit was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. Also present on the occasion was Xpro India Chairman, Siddharth Birla.

Dielectric films are a niche segment and refer to specially designed thin plastic films used inside electronic and electrical capacitors.

The new unit of the company is located next to its existing biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films plant (used in packaging) in the region.

According to a release issued by Xpro, the Barjora unit is the single largest investment by the company and has received “financial assistance” by KBC Bank Deutschland, State Bank of India, State of Patiala and State Bank of Hyderabad.

The equipment for the unit has been imported from Germany.

Xpro, listed on both BSE and NSE, is into plastic processing. It is a leading producer of thermoplastic co-extruded sheets, special cast films and speciality BOPP films.

The company’s other manufacturing units are located in Faridabad (Hyderabad), Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh) and Ranjangaon (Maharashtra).
