Rs two billion development plan launched in Pasrur

Sialkot: A comprehensive plan costing more than Rs2 billion has been launched in tehsil Pasrur of Sialkot district. Under the programme a large number of projects pertaining to peoples' welfare would be completed in the area.

Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that development work on Pasrur Cadet College spreading over 160 acres of land costing Rs750 million is in full swing. The college would cater the educational needs not only of Sialkot district but also provide opportunities to the children of Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Wazirabad areas of Gujranwala division, the sources added.

An industrial estate was also being developed near Pasrur sugar mill where all basic facilities like gas, electricity, telecommunication, water and sewerage would be provided to facilitate the business community of the area, the sources said and added that the step was being taken for the promotion of local industries while the regular functioning of industrial estate in the area would also generate wide employment opportunities for the educated, skilled and semi skilled persons of tehsil Pasrur.

Sources further said that more than Rs60 million were being spent on the improvement of city sewerage system and installation of streetlights besides 22-km long sui gas pipeline which has been laid to fulfil the gas need of tehsil Pasrur.
