10,814 acres of revenue land to be handed over to KIADB.
To overcome shortage of land, the State Cabinet has decided to hand over 10,814 acres of revenue land located in industrial estates or areas to Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) ahead of Invest Karnataka–2016.
The KIADB, which had acquired revenue land, was unable to allot it to industries since it belongs to the government.
The State Cabinet, which met recently, decided to hand over revenue/gomala land located in industrial areas to the KIADB so that it could be allotted to investors. The decision was taken in the wake of Invest Karnataka summit to be held during February 3–5, 2016.
The Cabinet decided to hand over revenue land located in industrial areas in the 15 districts of Mysuru, Tumakuru, Belagavi, Hassan, Ballari, Vijayapura, Kolar, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Dakshina Kannada, Haveri, Ramanagaram, Chamarajanagar, and Mandya to the KIADB, sources in the government said.
In Belagavi and Mysuru districts alone, 6,900 acres of such land would be handed over to the KIADB so that it could be allotted to entrepreneurs who would sign investment agreement during the Invest Karnataka meet.
