26 uplift projects completed in Takhar, Balkh province

Taluqan: Jan Muhammad Nabizada, spokesman for Rural Rehabilitations and Development department of Takhar said 26 development projects were completed in northern Takhar and Balkh province which will benefit 7350 families.

22 projects were completed in Bangi district of Takhar province while four projects were completed in Char Bolak district of Balkh province.

The projects included leveling 22 km road, construction of 120 small bridges, three water networks, 2 power supply networks and supportive walls on both sides of the river in Bangi district.

He said the projects were completed in three months at the cost of 25 million afghanis from the budget of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitations and Development (MRRD) with 10 per cent contribution of local population which will benefit 6500 families.

Meanwhile four development projects were completed in Balkh province. Ahmad Farid, head of National Solidarity Programme (NSP) in the north told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects included three water reservoirs and 12 bridges in Char Bolak and Kushinda districts of Balkh province.

He said the projects were completed at the cost of 1.5 million afghanis granted by World Bank which will benefit over 850 families. He said that 1200 projects have been implemented in Balkh province which has benefited tens of thousands people while 300 more will be launched.
