Adani Expands Defence Manufacturing, Says India Will Soon End Ammunition Imports.

The Adani Group is preparing for a major expansion of its defence and aerospace business, with plans to significantly ramp up manufacturing capacity and triple investments over the next few years, a senior company official said.

Adani Defence and Aerospace, which currently has an order pipeline of $1.2–1.5 billion, has outlined a total capital expenditure of ₹15,000 crore, of which ₹5,000 crore has already been invested. The company manufactures a wide range of defence equipment, including unmanned systems, counter-drone technologies, small arms, accessories, and ammunition.

As part of its near-term strategy, the group is set to scale up its small-calibre ammunition plant in Kanpur, reflecting its broader push to strengthen domestic defence production capacity.
