Adani Ports Aims for 3x Global Expansion by 2029-30, Boosts Capacity at Key Ports.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) is ramping up capacity at key ports and pursuing strategic acquisitions abroad as part of its plan to triple international operations by 2029-30.

International expansion is at the core of APSEZ’s long-term strategy, with significant investments in Israel, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka. The company aims to handle 140-150 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo from its international ports by the end of the decade, while domestic ports are expected to continue their steady growth, reaching a capacity of 820-850 MMT.

As part of this strategy, APSEZ is strengthening its global footprint through key assets such as Haifa Port in Israel, its under-development port in Tanzania, and the Colombo West International Terminal in Sri Lanka.

“We are focused on accelerating our global presence through strategic acquisitions and capacity expansion,” an APSEZ spokesperson said.

While international operations remain a priority, APSEZ continues to enhance domestic port capacities, reinforcing its position as India's leading port operator and expanding its integrated logistics network to support long-term growth.
