Ahmedabad Airport announces direct flights to 5 destinations, including one-stop service to Dimapur.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad, managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd), has announced new direct and additional flight services connecting the airport to Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kolkata. Additionally, a one-stop connection to Dimapur will be available via IndiGo 6E.

In a social media post on X, the airport shared, "Ahmedabad Airport is happy to announce direct and additional connectivity to Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kolkata, along with a one-stop connection to Dimapur with IndiGo 6E." The announcement is expected to ease travel for both leisure and business passengers, with the airport highlighting the convenience these new routes will offer.

The move is particularly significant for improving connectivity to the Northeast, with Guwahati, often called the gateway to the region, now more accessible. In addition, the new links to Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kolkata are expected to further streamline travel options for passengers departing from Ahmedabad.

The airport has recently focused on safety improvements as well, with a series of measures aimed at reducing bird strikes, resulting in significant safety enhancements for both passengers and aircraft. In addition, Ahmedabad Airport received the prestigious Platinum Award in the Airport Sector at the Society of Energy Engineers and Managers (SEEM) Awards in September 2024 for its sustainable and energy-efficient initiatives, including the installation of a highly efficient centrifugal chiller that resulted in a 30% energy saving.

SVPIA is managed by Ahmedabad International Airport Limited (AIAL), which operates under Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), the infrastructure arm of the Adani Group.
