Amara Raja crosses 1 GWh lithium battery deployment for telecom networks.
Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M) has crossed one gigawatt-hour (GWh) of cumulative lithium energy storage deployment in India’s telecom sector, spanning over 50,000 sites nationwide and capturing more than 35 per cent market share in the segment.
The milestone highlights the company’s growing presence as a telecom battery solutions provider and reflects the increasing adoption of advanced energy storage systems across the country’s digital infrastructure.
“Crossing 1 GWh is a meaningful operating milestone, but more importantly, it establishes a foundation for what comes next. The scale we have built within telecom—along with the systems, execution capability, and customer relationships—positions us to expand into adjacent segments such as data centres, industrial applications, and commercial infrastructure,” said M.M. Venkata Krishna.
Echoing similar views, Harshavardhana Gourineni said the achievement reflects a broader shift underway in India’s energy landscape. “Energy storage is evolving from a support function to a core infrastructure layer, driven by digitisation, electrification, and renewable integration. The transition from conventional technologies to advanced storage solutions will be gradual, but it is clearly in motion,” he added.
