Andhra Pradesh CM Inaugurates Key E3 Road, Bridge Link to Amaravati.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently inaugurated the E3 Seed Access Road and a steel bridge in Guntur district, strengthening connectivity to the state’s greenfield capital Amaravati.

Built at a cost of ₹1,520 crore, the 22-km E3 road begins at Dondapadu village in Amaravati and passes through Rayapudi, Venkatapalem, Penumaka, Undavalli and Tadepalli before connecting with National Highway 16.

The 60-metre-wide, nine-lane road is being developed in three phases. The project will include a dedicated Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor and service roads, along with integrated infrastructure for drainage, drinking water, gas and power.

The road also features a cycle track, footpaths and a green belt as part of the infrastructure development.

A four-lane, 478-metre-long steel bridge has been constructed over the Buckingham Canal at Undavalli to connect the E3 road with the Vijayawada-Mangalagiri highway.

The road and bridge are expected to improve connectivity between Vijayawada and Amaravati while easing congestion on the existing narrow ‘karakatta’ road along the banks of the Krishna River.

As part of Amaravati’s wider road network, the state government is developing 34 roads spanning around 350 km in a grid pattern from N1 to N17. These roads will be connected through the E3 corridor.

The planned road network is designed to provide more direct access to different parts of Amaravati while accommodating projected growth in traffic, according to the government.

Following the inauguration, Naidu is expected to travel along the E3 Road to Rayapudi to inspect the MLA and MLC residences currently under construction.
