Andhra Pradesh Government to Launch Phase 2 Land Acquisition for Amaravati Capital Project Soon.
The Andhra Pradesh government is set to acquire an additional 4,000 acres of land from farmers in the Amaravati region, part of the ongoing development for the state’s new capital project. A senior official confirmed that the current land holdings are insufficient for the planned expansion, prompting the commencement of the acquisition process.
“With the plans underway, the existing land will not meet the future needs, and we will soon begin acquiring around 4,000 acres,” the official stated.
Following the election of the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA government last year, construction in the Amaravati region has gained momentum, with tenders for various projects being finalized. This has sparked increased interest from firms and institutions eager to establish a presence in the capital area.
Additionally, the state government is moving forward with plans for a Greenfield International Airport in Amaravati. Feasibility studies are currently underway, and the airport itself will require approximately 4,000 acres of land. The Andhra Pradesh Airport Development Corporation has already issued tenders for the feasibility study related to the airport’s construction.
