Andhra Pradesh to Accelerate Construction of Connectivity Roads to Bhogapuram Airport.

The Andhra Pradesh government is stepping up efforts to establish a robust road network connecting Visakhapatnam to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport, as the project moves closer to becoming operational.

The greenfield airport, being developed by GMR Group, is expected to commence operations by August this year. Earlier in January, an Air India flight from Delhi successfully landed at Bhogapuram as part of its maiden trial run, marking a key milestone in the project’s progress.

According to the state’s Minister for Roads and Buildings, the Detailed Project Report for an elevated expressway from Anandapuram is nearing completion. Meanwhile, work on major arterial roads linking the port city to the airport is already underway. Bhogapuram is located around 60 km from Visakhapatnam, and improved connectivity is expected to significantly enhance access to the new aviation hub.
