US-based cybersecurity firm Arctic Wolf has launched its first Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, India, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion. The Bengaluru office will play a crucial role in enhancing the Arctic Wolf platform and its suite of security operations solutions, focusing on innovation and advanced product development.
Jeff Green, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Arctic Wolf, highlighted the importance of India's talent pool in driving this initiative. “In my 20 years of building teams in India, it has evolved from merely augmenting US operations to owning entire product development. We’re giving our best talent the hardest problems to solve, not just legacy work,” Green said.
Dan Schiappa, Chief Product and Services Officer at Arctic Wolf, emphasized the strategic role the Indian team will play in the company's mission to mitigate cyber risks. “The research and development out of India will be key in advancing our platform. We’ve tasked the Bengaluru team with owning a major AI project, and they’re driving significant progress,” Schiappa noted.
The Bengaluru center will be instrumental in developing machine learning models and AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. This expansion will provide Arctic Wolf with 24/7 development capabilities and closer access to its Asia-Pacific clients, positioning the company for further growth in the region.
Arctic Wolf plans to hire 150 employees in Bengaluru by mid-2025, focusing on roles in research and development areas such as threat intelligence and AI. The company is allocating 20% of its R&D headcount to India, with expectations for continued growth in the coming years.
While the new GCC will primarily support product development, Arctic Wolf’s customer-facing services will continue to be managed from North America and Europe. The company, which already serves over 6,000 customers globally, is steadily expanding its presence in key markets, including the US, Canada, and Europe.
"We are investing heavily in India, with a significant spend on our platform—multi-millions of dollars. This is just the beginning, and we anticipate more growth in the future," Green added.
