Ashok Leyland bags ₹700 crore defence orders.

Ashok Leyland has won multiple defence contracts worth over ₹700 crore for supplying specialised vehicles for troop transportation, logistics, and mobility under the Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) programme. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the next financial year, the company announced.

Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, said the new orders reaffirm the company’s leadership in defence mobility. “For decades, we have been a trusted partner in defence solutions. The defence business remains a key pillar of our future growth,” he stated.

The contracts include a range of advanced mobility vehicles such as the Stallion 4x4, Stallion 6x6, Short Chassis Bus, and Mobility System Travelling Platform. These vehicles are engineered for superior off-road performance and operational efficiency in challenging terrains.

Amandeep Singh, President – Defence Business, highlighted the company’s commitment to indigenous defence manufacturing. “Our versatile vehicle platforms, ranging from 4x4 to 12x12, continue to be the backbone of logistics and specialist operations for the armed forces,” he said.

Ashok Leyland’s defence revenue for Q3 of this fiscal stood at ₹100 crore, reflecting its growing presence in the sector.
