HCLTech Sets Up GIFT City Fintech Hub to Drive Advanced Technology Services.
IT services major HCLTech has opened a 500-seat fintech centre at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), aimed at delivering advanced technology solutions such as artificial intelligence (AI), data engineering and other emerging digital services to banking and financial services clients.
The facility, which HCLTech refers to as its Global Technology Office, is spread across 32,000 square feet over two floors of a commercial complex in GIFT International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). The centre was inaugurated by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
HCLTech has already hired around 100 employees for the facility, with a significant number of recruits sourced locally, and has begun technology delivery operations from the centre.
"We are happy to say that some of our very important financial services clients will be serviced from here. We will engage in IT development for them," Rahul Singh, Chief Operating Officer – Corporate Functions, HCLTech, told businessline.
Singh said the company decided to expand its presence in GIFT City after identifying growth opportunities created by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), which has been encouraging technology and fintech companies to establish operations in the financial hub.
"When IFSCA was encouraging techfin companies to come here, we saw an opportunity, as some of our clients in the banking sector are already here," he said.
