Ather Energy Joins DPIIT to Accelerate EV Manufacturing.
In a significant move set to accelerate India's electric vehicle (EV) revolution, leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The partnership, announced recently, aims to significantly boost the nation's clean mobility and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Under the "Build in Bharat" initiative, led by the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), Ather Energy will collaborate closely with DPIIT. The SPF, a robust coalition of over 50 innovation-focused startups, is dedicated to cultivating a strong manufacturing ecosystem within India.
The comprehensive MoU outlines a multi-faceted partnership designed to foster growth across the EV value chain. Key aspects of the collaboration include strategic mentorship for deep-tech startups, crucial infrastructure support for emerging companies in the EV space, and joint innovation programs such as the highly anticipated Bharat Startup Grand Challenge.
Furthermore, the initiative will focus on talent and skill development through co-hosted programs, active participation in major startup events like the Startup Mahakumbh, and valuable on-ground exposure visits to facilitate learning and networking opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.
This collaboration between Ather Energy and DPIIT is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India's position as a global hub for EV manufacturing and sustainable transportation.
