Ballarpur Ind to invest Rs 900 cr for expansion

New delhi: Paper maker Ballarpur Industries Ltd said on Friday that it plans to invest about Rs 900 crore to more than double the capacity of its manufacturing unit near Pune.

The expansion will take coated wood-free paper capacity to 3.15 lakh tonnes per annum from 1.25 lakh tonnes per annum by October 2008, it said in a statement.

It plans to start commercial production from November next year. The company plans to fund the project through a debt of Rs 700 crore and internal accruals of Rs 200 crore.
