Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary is set to inaugurate three new facilities in North Gujarat: a Farmer Producer Company (FPC), a soil testing laboratory, and a bio-fertilizer plant.
The Banas Save Soil Farmer Producer Company (BSSFPC) and the Banas Soil Testing Laboratory (BSTL) will be based in Tharad, while the Banas Bio-Fertilizer Research and Development Laboratory (BBRDL) will be located in Khimana, Banaskantha district.
The BSSFPC, a joint initiative between Banas Dairy and the Sadhguru-led Isha Foundation, aims to support farmers in the semi-arid regions of Tharad and Lakhani. The company will provide training and guidance on sustainable soil management practices designed to improve soil health and productivity.
The BBRDL in Khimana will focus on developing eco-friendly bio-fertilizers as alternatives to traditional chemical fertilizers. The lab's research will ensure that the FPC utilizes advanced bio-fertilizer technologies tailored to the specific needs of the region's soil.
Addressing challenges such as poor soil quality, water scarcity, and extreme weather, the FPC will offer resources to improve soil health, reduce cultivation costs, and boost crop yields. Members will benefit from soil testing, drone services, tailored sustainable soil management training, and expert advisory support.
The Banas Soil Testing Laboratory aims to enhance soil vitality and set new standards for sustainable soil management practices in India.
