BEL Secures ₹2,210 Crore Order from Indian Air Force for Electronic Warfare Suite.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has signed a contract worth ₹2,210 crore (excluding taxes) with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) Suites for the Indian Air Force’s Mi-17 V5 helicopters.

The EW systems, indigenously designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) CASDIC and manufactured by BEL, include Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), Missile Approach Warning Systems (MAWS), and Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS). These systems are aimed at significantly enhancing the combat survivability of the helicopters by providing advanced threat detection and effective countermeasures.

With the latest contract, BEL’s total order book for the current financial year has reached ₹2,803 crore.
