Bengal Government Takes Action to Resolve Land Delays for Railway Projects.

The West Bengal government is addressing land-related challenges affecting various railway projects, with a focus on the Dankuni-Ludhiana freight rail corridor and railway overbridges and underpasses, an official said recently.

Chief Secretary Manoj Pant has directed officials to resolve these land issues swiftly. His directive followed a meeting at the state secretariat, Nabanna, with Eastern Railway General Manager Milind Deouskar and senior officials from the state Land and Transport Departments.

"The chief secretary has instructed officials to expedite the process of acquiring land and to begin identifying land required for railway lines," the official added. This move is aimed at clearing the land bottleneck to ensure the timely progress of critical railway infrastructure projects in the state.
