SLSWCA has cleared investments worth Rs 3491 Cr in West Bengal
Kolkata: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) has cleared seven investment proposals worth Rs 3491 crore in West Bengal.
The proposals include four in the steel sector worth Rs 2870 crore, one iron ore pellet plant, an iron ore beneficiation plant and a cement plant.
The SLSWCA cleared four proposals in the steel sector involving a combined investment of Rs 2870 crore and having a potential to generate direct employment for 4500 people.
Among the proposals approved in the steel sector was that of Shyam Steel Ltd which has proposed to set up a 0.6 million tonne per annum steel plant at Banai tehsil in Sundergarh district at a cost of Rs 925 crore.
Similarly, Shree Bajrang Power & Ispat Ltd has proposed to set up at 0.12 mtpa steel plant at Deogarh at a cost of Rs 500 crore. The project will create direct employment for 1200 people.Rupa Ispat which intends to set up a 0.21 mtpa steel plant at an investment of Rs 645 crore at Harichandrapur in Keonjhar district also got the nod of the SLSWCA.
The other proposal in the steel sector that got the green signal of the Single Window was that of Tata Steel that has proposed to set up a 0.4 mtpa rebar mill and a 55000 tonne per annum high carbon ferrochrome plant at Gopalpur at a combined cost of Rs 800 crore.
