BGR bags boiler contract for 5 NTPC projects

BGR Energy Systems Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder for the NTPC's 660 MW Super-critical Boiler tender. This tender is for supply of 660 MW Super-critical Boiler for the following five projects viz., (a) Mouda Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (2 x 660 MW), (b) Solapur Super Thermal Power Project (2 x 660 MW), (c) Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project (3 x 660 MW), (d) Meja Thermal Power Project (2 x 660 MW) and (e) Raghunathpur Thermal Power Project, Phase-II (2 x 660 MW).

BGR Energy has emerged as the lowest bidder in all five projects. As per tender conditions of NTPC, BGR Energy would be awarded contract for 7 Boilers. The aggregate value of contract is about Rs. 6500 Crore. BGR Energy has competed against BHEL and L&T, who are other qualified bidders.
