BHEL bags order worth Rs.1590 Cr from PGCIL

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has won an order in a consortium with ABB of Sweden from state-run transmission major Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for a power transmission link.

The order value for BHEL is Rs 1,590 crore. The 'Ultra High Voltage Multi-terminal Direct Current' transmission link order comprises three converter terminals and a power transmission system with a built in capacity of up to 8,000 MW, which is the largest HVDC (high voltage direct current) transmission system ever built.
