Bhopal Metro Nears Launch as Final CMRS Inspections Commence.
Bhopal Metro is entering its final phase before opening to passengers, with the concluding round of inspections by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) scheduled for this week, sources from Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) said.
MPMRCL Managing Director S Krishna Chaitanya recently led an on-site inspection covering the priority corridor, starting at AIIMS Metro Station and ending at Board Office Square Metro Station. The visit assessed key segments of the route and overall project progress.
The upcoming second phase of CMRS inspections will focus on the critical stretch between Subhash Nagar Depot and AIIMS Bhopal, which includes eight metro stations essential to the initial passenger service.
The inspection emphasizes passenger-centric facilities such as station entry and exit points, lifts, escalators, restrooms, control rooms, fire safety measures, track and power supply infrastructure, telecom networks, and security arrangements. Aesthetic improvements, including beautification efforts, were also reviewed.
With these final checks underway, Bhopal Metro is poised to begin operations soon, bringing a new era of urban transit to the city.
