Bihar Deputy CM takes up road projects with Gadkari.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav recently met Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and pressed for the completion of pending projects in the State, including the reconstruction of a bridge over the Ganga at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,800 crore.

“It was a positive meeting. During the 45-minute discussion, we talked about a number of steps that are needed for the development of Bihar. I also recalled the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar in the run up to the Assembly polls.”

“There is a need to fulfil those promises. We need to work for the development of the State keeping politics aside. I also underlined the need to speed up some road construction projects. There are issues of land acquisition, which we will sort out. We had a discussion regarding this also,” Mr Yadav told PTI after meeting Mr Gadkari.

The issues discussed during the meeting included approval to upgrade 54 State highways as national highways, giving approval in this financial year for reconstruction of Mahatma Gandhi bridge at an estimated cost of Rs. 2800 crore, gradually increasing the annual allotment under the NH head to the State from Rs. 600 crore to Rs. 2000 and to Rs. 4000 crore and re-planning of some road projects.
