Carborundum Universal Commences Commercial Output of Thin Wheels at Hosur Unit.
Carborundum Universal has begun commercial production of its cutting and grinding wheels (thin wheels) at its new facility in Hosur.
With the commissioning of the Hosur plant, CUMI’s total annual production capacity for cutting and grinding wheels in India will rise from 45 million to over 90 million wheels, the company said in a statement.
The facility was established with an investment of ₹83 crore and, at peak capacity utilisation, is expected to generate a turnover of ₹160 crore. The wheels produced at the plant will serve a wide range of industrial applications, including fabrication, general engineering and construction.
