Care Hospital's second facility opens in AP

Visakhapatnam: A new 65-bed facility of Care Hospitals was inaugurated by Police Commissioner N. Sambasiva Rao at Maharanipeta.

Addressing a media conference in this connection, Chairman and Managing Director of Care Hospitals B. Somaraju said that this was the second facility of Care Hospitals in the city.

While the 140-bed first facility at Ramnagar would cater to all specialties, the second hospital would offer services pertaining to trauma, neuro and spinal surgery, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ENT, internal medicine, critical care, nephrology and dialysis.

Some of the facilities would be commonly used by both hospitals. He said that constraint on the number of beds was the main reason for starting the second hospital. Chief Executive Officer N. Krishna Reddy said that this was the 12th hospital of Care in India and the sixth in AP.

The group has two facilities in Maharastra and one each in Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Gujarat. The group has plans to develop a 2000-bed health city in Nagpur in addition to setting up a third unit in Visakhapatnam in the health city. He said that the Care Group has made its mark at the national level in a short period of 10 years.

Replying to a query, Dr. Somaraju said that despite financial constraints the group was providing quality medical care to the poor and needy patients by charging more from rich patients and collecting donations from philanthropists.
