CDA to start work on seven roads

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) during the next three months will start projects related to rehabilitation and winding of seven roads and Zero Point interchange construction.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the CDA will start the construction of 7th Avenue’s temporary link with Kashmir Highway, construction of Zero Point interchange, rehabilitation and addition of two rigid lanes on Islamabad Highway from Rawat to Faizabad, widening of Jinnah Avenue, extension of Margalla Road up to 3rd Avenue, rehabilitation and widening of Lethrar Road from Tramari Chowk to Pinstech and widening and dualisation of Garden Avenue.

The CDA will also start second phase of some ongoing tourist and recreational spots projects, including Rawal Lake Park on 1,000 acres and Fatima Jinnah Park.

The project completed by the CDA in 2007 included dualisation of Shahrah-e-Jamhuriat and 4th Avenue at the cost of Rs 44.465 million, dualisation of Nazimuddin Road from Sector F-6 to Sector F-8 at the cost of Rs 101.902 million, dualisation of South Nazimuddin service road from Sector F-10 to Sector F-11 at the cost Rs 75.599 million, dualisation of Ibn-e-Sina Road from Sector G-9 to Sector G-11 at the cost of Rs 108 million, dualisation of Khyaban-e-Iqbal F-11 at the cost of Rs 37.348 million, addition of 3rd lane and rehabilitation of existing Murree road from Faizabad to Serena Hotel at the cost of Rs 336.672 million, underpasses on 7th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue intersection, Nazimuddin and Fazal-e-Haq Road at the cost of Rs 453.069 million, underpasses on 7th Avenue, Khushall Khan and College Roads at the cost of Rs 406.529 million.
