CEAT's Chennai Plant Earns WEF Lighthouse Certification; Nagpur and Ambernath Facilities Target Next Milestone.

CEAT Ltd's Chennai plant has been awarded the prestigious ‘Lighthouse Certification’ by the World Economic Forum (WEF), marking the company’s second facility to receive this recognition after its Halol plant. The certification highlights the adoption of fourth-industrial revolution (4IR) technologies to enhance sustainability, workforce empowerment, and productivity.

The company now aims to secure Lighthouse certification for its Nagpur and Ambernath plants as part of its ongoing commitment to digital transformation and operational excellence.

“This recognition reflects the successful application of Industry 4.0 principles, including digitalisation and its impact on business, employees, customers, and productivity,” said Arnab Banerjee, MD & CEO of CEAT Ltd, in an interview with businessline.

Banerjee elaborated on how the company has implemented over 30 innovative solutions at the Chennai facility, such as advanced mixing techniques that adjust machining cycles to natural raw material variations. These technologies ensure consistent quality, optimise energy consumption, and enhance overall efficiency.

CEAT also envisions achieving Lighthouse certification for its Nagpur plant as it continues its journey of technological transformation across its operations.
