Chennai Port-Maduravoyal Elevated Corridor Slated for Commissioning in November 2027.
The long-delayed four-lane elevated corridor connecting Chennai Port and Maduravoyal is now expected to be operational by November 2027, said S. Viswanathan, Chairperson of the Chennai Port Authority.
The ₹3,570-crore project, being executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has currently achieved around 25–27% physical progress.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Viswanathan noted that construction was moving at a rapid pace and expressed confidence that the corridor would meet the scheduled completion timeline.
To ensure smooth connectivity with the new elevated corridor, Chennai Port is also investing ₹37.18 crore in internal road and intersection improvement works.
The project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve logistics efficiency between the port and key city arteries.
