CM to launch infra projects in Mira Road.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is scheduled to launch several infrastructure projects for the twin city of Mira-Bhayandar in Mira Road. However, miffed at being sidelined by their alliance partner BJP, the local Shiv Sena unit has hinted at skipping the event, while the NCP-led opposition has termed the inauguration spree as nothing but a cheap publicity stunt aimed at hogging credit for the developmental schemes that have already been passed and started by the erstwhile Democratic Front government.
Apart from inaugurating the work of the ambitious 75 MLD water supply project, new fleet of public transport buses and multi-level parking plaza, Fadnavis will lay the foundation stone for the new administrative headquarters of the MBMC near SK Stone in Mira Road at 5.30 pm.
'Leave aside organising single-handed press conferences and excluding photos of prominent Shiv Sena leaders from banners, the BJP leaders have not cared to extend invitations to our senior leaders who have given their valuable contributions to the success of some of these projects. Is this a government function or a BJP-sponsored event?¡¨ questioned Deputy Mayor Pravin Patil of the Shiv Sena, who also hinted at a probable boycott of the programme after a signal from the higher-ups in the party.
Speaking to media persons, Congress district president Anil Sawant said, 'The credit of sanctioning additional water to the region and an official nod to enhance public transport goes to the DF government. However, instead of clearing hurdles and procuring requisite sanctions from various authorities ensuring time-bound implementation, the BJP is busy hogging the limelight and misguiding the CM by holding a lavish but good-for-nothing inaugural function.'
