Collector directs to complete ROB on Super Corridor by Feb 28.
District collector P Narahari recently directed the contractor of the under construction railway over-bridge on Super Corridor to complete it before February 28 at any cost.
As part of preparations for Simhastha-2016 which is to commence from April 22 in Ujjain, the collector along with Indore Development Authority chairman Shankar Lalwani inspected the ROB site to take stock of the construction works.
The collector observed that the major portion of the ROB is completed and directed the contractor to complete the remaining work anyhow before the commencement of Simhastha.
He set February 28 as the deadline for completion of the ROB. “We want the ROB to be completed by February end at any cost. Any delay in the construction of the ROB will call for action,” he told the contractor.
The contractor informed Narahari that at present only one crane is working at the site and another crane is to come from Mumbai.
The collector told the contractor to inform him if there is any problem in transportation of the crane.
Narahari told reporters that the design of the ROB has been modified with the help of students of the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai.
He said that there was some procedural delay in the construction of the ROB which has now been dealt with.
Lalwani promised to hand over the pending load drawings to the contractor within eight days.
The ROB is coming up on Super Corridor which will be one of the main routes to the ancient town. All the VIPs will take this route to from the city airport to Ujjain to participate in the Simhastha.
The ROB is under construction since 2015. As per information 38 slabs are still to be installed on the under construction bridge.
