Construction of toll plazas to begin
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has given approval for the construction of three European Style Toll Plazas on three internal routes of the capital.
CDA Special Projects Director Sanna Ullah Aman told reporters on Sunday that the Planning Wing had selected the sights and the work would be started in January and completed within six months. He said that after preparation of designs of the toll plazas, which was underway, construction work would be started. He said that security cameras and other electronic systems would also be installed at the toll plazas.
The modern toll plazas have been awarded on BOT basis to private companies and the CDA has formally signed the agreements. The CDA has handed over the current toll plazas to companies that will construct the modern toll plazas on their own expenditures and the operation and management will also be responsibility of the companies. The companies will hand over the toll plazas to the CDA after five years and will also pay Rs 300 million fee to the authority during five years.
