DRL, GSK signdeal for partnership venture

Hyderabad: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) have signed an agreement to form a joint venture for developing market generics and formulations that can be exported to emerging markets .

Under the terms of the agreement GSK will gain access to Dr Reddy’s diverse portfolio and future pipeline of more than 100 branded pharmaceuticals.

Under the ten-year collaboration, both companies will market drugs in fast growing therapeutic segments such as cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, and gastroenterology and pain management.

The products will be manufactured by Dr Reddy’s and will be licensed and supplied to GSK in various emerging markets such as Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific excluding India.
